The Department of Computer Applications of T. John College organized a two day national conference on ‘NACCET-12’- National Conference on Emerging Trends in Computer Engineering &Technologies at the college campus recently. The aim of the conference was to churn new and innovative ideas in Computer Engineering and Technology. The conference began on a celebratory note with an inaugural session presided over by Prof. H. G. Rajshekhara from the Department of Computer Applications. All the dignitaries participated in the lamp lighting ceremony.

The conference was attended by many academicians, research scholars and students. The conference committee received 250 research papers out of which 120 research papers were selected for paper reading sessions.

Dr. Nilanjana Basu, Principal of T John Group of Institutions said, “The importance of innovation in the field of research and development and its application is very essential for our survival. This conference will provide a churning of new ideas.”

Dr. Thomas P. John, Chairman of the T. John Group of Institutions addressed the audience and emphasized that innovation is the key to success. Dr. Ramachandra Gowda’s talk focused on the importance of time and the proper utilization of time in the context of research and development. Dr. Muralidhar B.L.’s address fore grounded the need of quality in the arena of research.

Dr. Ramachandra Gowda, Chairman of the Planning Commission was the chief guest for the occasion and Dr. Muralidhar B.L, MCA Chairman in the Bangalore University was the guest of honor. Dr. Thomas P. John, Chairman of the T. John Group of Institutions, Wg. Cdr (Ret’d) P. Sambasivan, Campus Director of the T. John Group of Institutions and Dr. Nilanjana Basu, the Principal of T. John College graced the occasion with their presence.

The inaugural session was brought to a close by felicitating all the dignitaries. There were many parallel sessions during the conference in which research papers were read out. These sessions were instrumental in bringing up new ideas which spells out the theme of the conference.
